Approving Volunteer Applications

Review and approve volunteer applications through your organizer dashboard

Accessing Your Applications

Go to Your Dashboard

Navigate to /profile/volunteers or click your avatar → "Manage Volunteers"

Select Your Campaign

Use the campaign dropdown to choose which campaign to manage volunteers for

Review Applications

See pending applications with applicant details and status badges

Application Details

Each application shows:

  • Volunteer Name - Display name or full name
  • Role Requested - What position they applied for (Packer, Driver, etc.)
  • Contact Info - Phone number and email (if provided)
  • Hours Committed - How many hours per week they can volunteer
  • Availability Notes - Schedule preferences and special notes
  • Application Date - When they applied

Approving Applications

  1. 1. Review the applicant's information

    Check their role, availability, and any notes they included

  2. 2. Click "Approve" button

    One-click approval changes status from pending to approved

  3. 3. Status updates automatically

    Application moves to "Approved" section, timestamp recorded

  4. 4. Volunteer is notified (future)

    Email notifications coming soon

Rejecting Applications

If an application isn't a good fit:

  1. • Click the "Reject" button next to the application
  2. • Application is removed from pending queue
  3. • No public record of rejection (privacy-friendly)
  4. • Applicant can apply again to other campaigns

After Approval

Once approved, volunteers can:

Log Hours

Self-report volunteer hours through their personal dashboard

View in Active List

Appear in your "Active Volunteers" section for easy coordination

Track Impact

See their contribution stats on their personal dashboard

Managing Approved Volunteers

After approval, you can:

  • ✓ Mark them as "Active" when they start working
  • ✓ Log hours on their behalf if needed
  • ✓ View their total hours completed
  • ✓ Contact them through messaging system
  • ✓ Update their role or status as needed

Best Practices

  • Review applications within 24-48 hours
  • Send a message to approved volunteers with next steps
  • Check availability matches your campaign needs
  • Consider applicants with specific skills for specialized roles
  • Be welcoming even when rejecting (they might donate or share)
